TRANSCENDED ROMANTICISM IN PAKISTANI DRAMA SERIALS

DRAMA SERIALS playing on Television channels, is an unique art of presenting society's social and political scenario in a very simple way. They reflect the things which take place and keep going in our society. Such things are first written. Written material includes the story, dialogues, and other formal things. Different actors are hired as subjects, to perform their particular roles. Afterward, The story is filmed and recorded in a disciplined way accordingly. The stories revolve around different categories such as romance, love, comic, and mystery based upon social and political happenings in a Society. The Drama serials are used as a tool to aware people from such things.


As every country has its own industry, Pakistan owns the one as well, which is known as 'Lollywood'. Since the start, Pakistani Drama Serials used to be very well known and well reputed not only in Pakistan but they were popular among our neighboring countries as well. Its because the dramas used to target the social and political issues, which were similar in our neighbors also. Gradually, as the world progressed and the time passed, the things started to change. Pakistani Drama serials were bounded only to film the LOVE STORIES of teenagers instead of focusing on social and political issues.


Nowadays, we can observe such a trend on almost every Pakistani entertainment TV channel. Most of the drama serials which are played on screen are based upon the love stories, break ups, patch ups, beauty icons, the dirty family politics, hatred, upper-class families and irritating ends, which are eventually driving the youth on wrong track. The element of social and political awareness has entirely gone missing from today's Pakistani Dramas.
Our society is hit by many problems, yet no problem is currently being addressed in any Pakistani serial at the moment.


Problems such as Illiteracy, poverty, corruption, gender discrimination, and religious extremism needs to be properly addressed along with LOVE STORIES :) Pakistani serials are being liked by the majority of the population and they also cover most part of the country so it will have positive consequences if they are used as reformers!
